Definition of Blood Cell, Types of Blood Cells and Complete Information

Blood Cell:

Any of the kind of cell normally found circulating in the blood in called A cell.

  Types:

There are three types of cells in Human body:
Ø White blood cells
Ø Red blood cells
Ø Platelets

White Blood Cells:

White blood cells , or leukocytes, are a part of the immune system and help our bodies fight infection.

Types of White blood cells:
Ø Neutrophils
Ø Lymphocytes
Ø Monocytes
Ø Eosinophil
Ø Basophils

Lifetime Of White Blood Cell:

The lifetime of white blood cells range from 13 to 20 days, after which time they are destroyed in the lymphatic system.
The normal range for a white blood cell count in a healthy adult is between 4,000 and 11,000 WBCs per micrometer or cubic millimeter of blood, so this is the different from the amount in men, and moreover white blood cells amount are in children and young people are gradually more than the others.

Platelets:

Platelets are the small colorless, disc-shaped cell fragment without a nucleus, Platelets are involved in clotting in human body.

How much platelets are normal and important in a human body?

The normal platelets count in human body must be the 150,000 to 450,000 platelets per microliter of blood. If someone have more platelets than the 450,000 this situation is called thrombocytosis and having less than 150,000 is known as thrombocytopenia.

Platelets Test is called the Complete Blood Count.

The Blood Cells Disease Anemia:

Anemia describes the condition in which the number of red blood cells  or Hemoglobin in the blood is low. For this reason, doctors sometimes describe someone with anemia as having a low blood count. A person who has anemia is called anemic. The normal level of hemoglobin is generally different in males and females. For men, a normal hemoglobin level is typically defined as a level of more than 13.5 gram/100 ml, and in women as hemoglobin of more than 12.0 gram/100ml.

How does the body make blood:

Blood is comprised of two parts:
Ø Liquid called the plasma
Ø A cellular part
The cellular part contains several different cell types. One of the most Important and the most numerous cell types are red blood sells. The other cell types are the white blood cells and platelets. The purpose of the red blood cell is to deliver oxygen from the lungs to other parts of the body.

Read Blood Cells:

Red blood cells are produced through a series of complex and specific steps. They are made in the bone marrow (inner part of the femur and pelvic bones that makes most of the ells in the blood,) and when all the proper steps in their maturation are completed, they are released into the blood stream. The hemoglobin molecule is the function unit of the red blood cells and is a complex protein structure that is inside the red blood cells. Contrary to most cells in the human body, red blood cells o not have a nucleus (metabolic center of a cell).

Time period:

Red blood cells live about 100 days, so the body is constantly trying to replace them. In the adults, red blood cell production occurs in the bone marrow. Doctors try to determine if a low red blood cell count is caused by increased blood loss of red blood cells or from decreased production of them in the bone marrow. Knowing whether the number of white blood cells and/or platelets has changed also helps determine the cause of anemia.
